New Student Orientation - Fall 2022

In addition to Bear Tracks, all first-year students are expected to attend our in-person New Student Orientation program. This five-day program, which includes move-in day on Aug. 22 for students living on campus as well as the Big Sky Experience, will provide an opportunity for you to meet your incoming peers, get to know campus and the Missoula community, and learn about what it means to be a student at the University of Montana. 

Transfer students who complete Bear Tracks are welcomed and encouraged, but not required to attend.

Families are invited to participate in some orientation activities Aug. 22 - 23.

Freshman Wilderness Experience, Flathead Lake Biological Station Overnight Trip, Grizzly Marching Band, and some student athletes will operate on a slightly different timeline and will need to move into their residence halls earlier than Aug. 22.  Please follow the arrival instructions given to you for those program specifically.
